SIJS Success – Attorney Ibara-Cech helped a client get a greencard as the result of her special immigrant juvenile status. Special immigrant juvenile status is a special designation for minors who have been neglected, abused, or abandoned by one or both of their parents. In order to do this, Attorney Ibara-Cech helped the client terminate her removal proceedings so that she could file her adjustment of status application with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. This was also time sensitive, as the priority dates were about to regress, which would have caused the client to wait longer. Now, she is a permanent resident and will be able to seek naturalization in five years.
