Attorney Cerena Ibara-Cech successfully represented a client from Cameroon in his asylum application before the Immigration Court. Cameroon has been in the midst of a serious humanitarian crisis, and this client had been severely beaten and detained by the Cameroonian authorities. With Attorney Cerena’s assistance, the client successfully presented his case to the Immigration Judge and was granted asylum. Based on the information presented at the hearing, the Department of Homeland Security also waived appeal, which means that the client was able to immediately obtain his asylee status.
