Throughout the year, our firm received several awards and recognitions that reflect our continued commitment to excellence in legal service. As we celebrate 25 years in business, we look back on some of the highlights of 2025.
MJB Immigration was honored in the 2026 Cleveland Tier 1 Listing of “Best Law Firms” in Immigration Law by Best Lawyers. Our attorneys Stacy Cozart Martin and Michael Jolic were included in the 32nd edition of The Best Lawyers in America in Immigration, and attorney Evan Hunt was named to Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America in Immigration.
Stacy was also awarded Adjunct Professor of the Year for excellence in teaching at Case Western Reserve University School of Law.
We are grateful to have been recognized by clients, peers, and industry organizations over the past year. While we are proud of these achievements, we recognize that they are made possible by the trust our clients place in us. We look forward to building upon this foundation in the coming year.
MJB Immigration believes in giving back and getting involved—and 2025 was no exception. Reflecting on the past twelve months, we are reminded of the powerful stories of compassion and commitment that defined our volunteer efforts. This year showed us what is possible when passionate individuals come together in service for a greater purpose.
Our attorneys Evan and Stacy began and ended the year by volunteering their time to assist community members with updating birth documents and name changes at the Cuyahoga County Probate Court. Throughout the year, we also participated in multiple naturalization and power of attorney clinics, including Citizenship Day and clinics hosted in partnership with Asian Services in Action, Catholic Charities, and the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland.
Community engagement remained a priority as our team took part in several fairs and expos, including the LGBTQ+ Career and Resource Fair at the LGBT Center of Greater Cleveland, the LGBT Plexus Fair, and the Independence Community Expo. We also attended both India Festival 2025 and India Festival USA’s 16th Annual Cultural Festival—events that brought communities together through vibrant cultural experiences, food, and entertainment. In addition, we provided consultations to employers navigating the complexities of immigration compliance and workforce needs. Our San Diego office attended SHRM2025, the world’s largest professional association dedicated to human resources.
Our attorneys connected with the broader professional and civic community through speaking engagements and industry events. Stacy spoke at the Maltz Museum and presented at a Federal Bar Association conference, sharing insights on immigration law and its evolving landscape. She also attended the CSU NEOhio State of Labor Summit.
Supporting the next generation of legal professionals was another meaningful focus in 2025. Our team met with law students during a “speed interview” format at the CWRU Networking Night, and Evan contributed his time as a judge for the CWRU Spartan Showdown Mock Trial Tournament.
We remain proud supporters of nonprofits such as Building Hope in the City and Re:Source Cleveland, each of which hosted impactful events this year—Building Hope in the City’s Gala, themed “The Colors of Hope,”
and Re:Source Cleveland’s annual Reap the Benefit. Both gatherings highlighted the vital work these organizations do to uplift and strengthen Cleveland’s communities.
As we approached the end of 2025, the MJB team joined Re:Source Cleveland, an incredible organization serving international newcomer families through mentoring, sports, arts and wellness, academic support, post-secondary guidance, drivers’ education, and more; as well as Trials for Hope, a compassionate organization dedicated to fostering dignity and belonging by supporting underserved individuals, meeting essential needs, and ensuring every neighbor feels seen, valued, and supported. Our team assisted these wonderful organizations with packing food supplies and gained deeper insight into the successes of their programs.
This year’s volunteer and professional efforts underscore our firm’s belief that the practice of law extends beyond the office and into the communities we serve. We are grateful to everyone who contributed their time, expertise, and compassion, and we remain steadfast in our commitment to expanding access to legal support in the coming year.
