Cancellation of Removal
Attorney Cerena Ibara-Cech successfully assisted a client in her cancellation of removal case before the Immigration Court. Cancellation of removal is a form of relief for individuals who have been present in the United States for 10 years and can show that their U.S. citizen or permanent resident qualifying relative would suffer exceptional and extremely unusual hardship. This is a high standard to meet but with Attorney Cerena’s help, the client was successful and the application was granted by an Immigration Judge. This woman, who has been trying to get status in the U.S. since she arrived in 2006, will now be placed in the queue to receive a grant of cancellation of removal once a number is available for her in accordance with the statutory cap.
