Motion to Reopen and Special Immigrant Juvenile Status

Client X is from Central America and came to the United States as a child to reunite with his mother. He was placed in removal proceedings and, due to confusion related to an address change, missed his immigration court hearing and was ordered removed in absentia. His mother contacted Attorney Jessica Larson, who helped them file a motion to reopen his immigration court case. After the motion was granted, Attorney Jessica worked with another attorney in Client X’s hometown to obtain a custody order for Client X’s mother, together with the required factual findings for Special Immigrant Juvenile Status. Attorney Jessica then filed a Form I-360 Petition (for Special Immigrant Juvenile Status) for Client X, which was approved by USCIS. Last year, Attorney Jessica helped Client X terminate his removal proceedings. This year (2022), Attorney Jessica helped Client X apply for adjustment of status and Client X recently received his green card! It was a long journey, but Client X now has permanent lawful status in the United States.
